About Me

About Me

573_edited.png

I am a public relations professional passionate about writing, multimedia storytelling, and the intersection of entertainment, culture and sports. To date, I hold over eight years of media experience in strategic communications, digital media and community engagement.

My career journey has led me to agencies, athletic communications team, newsrooms and mission-driven nonprofit organizations that empower children and communities through extraordinary programs. With each of my experiences, I have gained new skills and built sustainable relationships between organizations and their audiences.

I am grateful to have supported communications objectives for various organizations including Little League International, Allen University and the Center for Stuttering Therapy at Boston University's Sargent College of Health & Rehabilitation Sciences. In numerous specialized roles, I have engaged diverse audiences and crafted messages calling key stakeholders to action by publishing digital and social media content, writing website stories, supporting integrated marketing campaigns, and conducting research and interviews.

In August 2022, I earned my master's degree in sports public relations from Syracuse University's S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications. As I continue my career, I am contributing my unique skills and insights to the evolving public relations industry.

Two months before beginning my master's program, I graduated summa cum laude from the University of South Carolina. Immediately upon arriving on campus, I joined my university's student newspaper, The Daily Gamecock, as a multimedia reporter. Trekking across campus and South Carolina Gamecocks athletics venues,  I reported on Southeastern Conference athletic programs, Division I student-athletes and university alumni competing at the professional level.

As someone with a tremendous passion for writing and sports media, I can confidently say immediately joining my student newspaper was the best decision I made during my time at South Carolina. My experiences with The Daily Gamecock not only introduced me to many people and provided opportunities the traditional classroom setting may not, but also allowed me to build upon my passions for storytelling, research, interviewing, editing and strategic communications.

Something many people may not know about me is I am the proud owner of an extensive baseball card collection.

Here’s a glimpse of what the back of my card would look like if I had my own:

My card collection shaped my attention to detail, curiosity toward people's backgrounds and commitment to editorial accuracy.

Reading the work of exceptional journalists continuously inspires my affinity for the evolving PR industry. Proudly, I stay continue to stay current on our world's news and trends by consuming information across various mediums.

Yet my baseball cards truly sparked my passion for lifelong learning... and granted me very important knowledge such as more people have walked on the moon than scored off of Mariano Rivera in the MLB postseason and Jamie Moyer traveled to more than 50 stadiums across his MLB career.

Please feel free to contact me here. I’m always looking to make a connection and learn something new.
