“Each story, novel, poem and play presents a vision of the world that illuminates the dark cave of life we stumble through. We can see better where we’re going, what sudden drop to avoid, where the cool water is running.” - Kareem Abdul-Jabbar
My sports media career spans public relations, journalism, social media storytelling, athlete activism, fan engagement, brand partnerships, youth sports nonprofits, integrated marketing campaigns, live sports production and sit-down interviews with athletes.
I persistently dig beyond data and box scores to identify trends shaping how we watch, play and consume the sports we love. Using my experiences, I develop campaigns and strategies to enhance sports brands and leaders with key audiences.

Little League International
While working for Little League International's Marketing & Communications team, I managed media initiatives enhancing the nonprofit's reputation and reach in communities around the world.

Working with senior executives, department leaders and seasonal staff members, I published digital content, operated field-level broadcast cameras and managed on-site videoboard software to provide an extraordinary fan experience at the 2022 Little League World Series in Williamsport, PA.
Our collaborations engaged Little League Baseball and Little League Softball stakeholders including global consumers, children, families, corporate partners, event sponsors and elected officials.

Using my journalism background, I published the following feature stories consistent with the Little League brand voice:

Sports PR Summit
The 2022 Sports PR Summit (SPRS) marked the first in-person iteration of the event since before the pandemic.
Leading a team of digital and social media strategists promoting the annual event, I enhanced the SPRS's national reputation and ability to attain professional sports commissioners and Edward R. Murrow award-winning journalists such as Tom Rinaldi as keynote speakers.
Researching global journalism, marketing, advertising and emerging media trends, I created our team's content calendar and delegated coverage responsibilities based on team members' areas of expertise.
Our social, web and internal communications content positioned the SPRS as the premier sports industry entity focused on this era's most relevant sports industry topics:

South Carolina Gamecocks
Assigned a multimedia journalism course project requiring me to tell a story related to COVID, I focused on the Gamecocks athletic communications staff.
I examined how the Gamecocks women's basketball, baseball and football SIDs shifted their publicity and media relations goals after the pandemic abruptly forced the NCAA to cancel athletic competitions.

“Coach Staley is a national figure and prominent voice in women’s basketball, so once she was ready to do interviews, I’ve been working with a wide variety of media outlets to keep her voice in the national conversation... We’re also taking this time to broaden the reach of our program, doing interviews with smaller or more niche media outlets that we may not typically have time for due to the playing season and Coach’s recruiting schedule.” – Women's basketball SID Diana Koval
“It’s a dream come true for them. They are all great guys who represented our University and the football program in a first-class manner." – Senior Associate AD/Communications & PR Steve Fink on Gamecocks entering NFL
